Every year after Christmas, I get into a knitting funk where I'm just not motivated to start anything new or pick up any WIPs. Does anyone else have this problem? My guess is that it's burn-out after the rush to get Christmas gifts finished on time. And this year is no different. I have one sock finished, one Fetching fingerless mitt finished, and one Little Gems Mitt finished—all of which need a pair. But I don't want to do them. I'm at a knitting loss. So I've been trying to decide on a new, challenging project to pique my interest and get me motivated. And here's what I've come up with:
It was also quite fun explaining to my brother that "baby alpaca" does not literally mean that the yarn comes from *baby* alpacas.
Here's my brother modeling his Christmas cap from last year—this is an equal opportunity blog. Everyone gets their picture on here at some point or another; those are my mom's hands modeling the Little Gems Mitts in the last post. (We just got around to taking the FO picture of the cap this Christmas!)

wow, I just ripped back about 3 inches of that wrap! I love it but my darn brain is too fuddled. And I needed the needles. I am sure yours will be gorgeous!
Imagine two of those in New Orleans :)
oh, i can't wait to see your progress of this cape! i have always loved it!
that pile of wool you've got pictured is so beautiful. i kinda want to steal it from you so i could just look at those pretty colors and textures all day, but i don't know how to knit (well) so it would be a huge waste. also, i can't wait to see the finished project. pretty neat!
